Fluormex gel 50 g
The drug for the prevention of caries. Aminofluorides limit the adhesion and colonization of bacteria on the tissues of the tooth and the formation of plaque, as well as block the dentinal tubules, which helps to reduce tooth hypersensitivity. Fluorine contained in aminofluorides protects enamel and dentin. Fluorine ions are embedded in the crystal lattice of tooth enamel, due to which minor damage to the enamel is remineralized. Absorption of fluoride through the oral mucosa is limited and amounts to less than 1% of the daily intake. Within 24 hours, 50% of fluorine is excreted in the urine, 15-25% – with faeces and sweat, and the remaining amount is bound in solid tissues. The concentration of fluoride in dentin increases with age and is higher near the pulp than at the enamel-dentin interface.

Dosage:
One series of treatments should be carried out during the year. A series of procedures involves applying the gel 5 to 10 times every 2 weeks, i.e. 1 brushing every 2 weeks for 10-20 weeks.
Brushing your teeth – brushing your teeth before the procedure is very helpful, but not essential, as Fluormex gel is highly adhesive. Approximately 1 cm of the extruded gel is applied to the toothbrush and brushed for 3 minutes. Children under 9 years of age should be supervised by adults when using the gel so that they do not swallow it during cleaning; you should rinse your mouth slightly after the procedure.
Rubbing – about 1 cm of the extruded gel is rubbed into all surfaces of the teeth with a cotton swab (in the dentist’s office). In children under 9 years of age with advanced caries, it is recommended to leave a small amount of gel in the fissures on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Before starting fluoridation of tooth enamel, it is necessary to carefully remove tartar.
Composition:
1 g of liquid contains 133 mg of aminofluorides, which corresponds to 10 mg of active fluoride; 1 g of gel contains 33.19 mg of aminofluorides and 22.1 mg of sodium fluoride, which corresponds to 12.5 mg of active fluoride. The drug in the form of a gel contains propyl parahydroxybenzoate and methyl parahydroxybenzoate.
